At the Seattle Seahawks pre-draft press conference Monday general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll shared a lot of great information about the team, the roster and the draft. However, perhaps the most important information provided by the team came in the form of the full roster that was distributed, including the numbers for the players on the roster.
The players that have been added in free agency have all been assigned numbers, and several returning players have changed numbers as well. Here are many of the players who have been added via free agency or through trades and the numbers they have been given by the team:
- Jason Myers, K, 2
- Stephen Morris, QB, 7
- Sebastian Janikowski, K, 11
- Marcus Johnson, WR, 14
- Jaron Brown, WR, 18
- Maurice Alexander, SS, 35
- Dontae Johnson, CB, 39
- Barkevious Mingo, LB, 51
- D.J. Fluker, G, 78
- Ed Dickson, TE, 84
- Tom Johnson, DT, 91
- Shamar Stephen, DT, 98
In addition, a handful of players who were on the team last year have changed numbers over the course of the offseason. Those include:
- Alex Carter, FS, 1 (wore 43 in 2017 while on the practice squad)
- J.D. McKissic, RB, 20 (wore 21 in 2017; 20 was Jeremy Lane)
- DeAndre Elliott, CB, 21 (wore 21 in training camp in 2017, but spent season on IR, so McKissic wore 21 during the regular season)
- Mike Tyson, CB, 24 (wore 40 in 2017; no Seahawk has worn 24 since Marshawn Lynch)
- Mike Davis, RB, 27 (wore 39 in 2017; 27 was Eddie Lacy)
- Jalston Fowler, FB, 43
- Amara Darboh, WR, 82 (wore 84 in 2017, 82 was Luke Willson)
If there are any that I have missed, simply let me know, and I can add them in. The full roster can be seen in these pictures tweeted by Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

As of now several of the numbers for players who left in free agency or via trade remain unassigned. Those include Richard Sherman (25), Paul Richardson (10), Michael Bennett (72) and Jimmy Graham (88). However, with the draft coming this week and all the undrafted free agents that will be added afterwards, it will not be a surprise to see those numbers reassigned in the coming week or two.
